Mr. Shepherd has counseled wealthy individuals, family businesses, trustees and other clients for over twenty-five years. During that time he has prepared thousands of wills and trusts and hundreds of documents to form, merge and dissolve other legal entities, including LLC's, partnerships, corporations and tax-exempt foundations. He is frequently asked by his peers to act as co-counsel in complex estate and tax matters.

Mr. Shepherd has represented clients in income, property, gift and estate tax matters before various agencies and courts, including the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Tax Court.

Born in the East Bay, raised in Marin County, Mr. Shepherd moved to San Francisco in the late 70's, first to attend San Francisco State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1979, and then to attend Golden Gate University School of Law where he received his J.D. in 1982 with honors and his LL.M. in Taxation in 1987. Mr. Shepherd and his family have lived in Palo Alto for over twenty-five years.
